The river views are amazing, and the house is comfortable, full of fascinating history, and decorative touches that made us feel relaxed and at home there. Our purpose was a relaxing family trip, and we enjoyed a family visit on the comfortable porch where we saw deer and a fox in the peaceful, wooded area, we had a lovely walk among acres of crops (that will soon be a vineyard) to the barn and stripping shed, which, in addition to the house, also make a perfect area for weddings and gatherings. We had a private whiskey tasting at the house in a room used for the groom and his party for weddings, and we were fortunate to stay in Susannah’s Suite, an incredibly beautiful, relaxing suite for a getaway. It was the most beautiful place I’ve seen where a bride and her bridesmaids could be pampered. The spaciousness, unique lighting, views, and beautiful bathroom make it the perfect place to prepare for a wedding. As much as we were impressed by the professionally designed rooms, comfortable beds, and cleanliness, our wonderful hosts felt like old friends. Their continuing research and knowledge of Susannah and the estate was only surpassed by the genuine love they have for sharing this piece of history with their guests. They arrived early to prepare our warm croissants in the morning and they were so delicious! Breakfast was served on beautiful, hand painted dishes from our hosts’ travels, and breakfast with a view of the river was unforgettable. Susannah’s (Website hidden by Airbnb) offers history, beautiful photos, and local highlights so you can explore the area, and their commitment to health and safety during this challenging time is second to none. We all felt safe, comfortable, and already can’t wait to return.
